after several false starts i have successfully set up my vpn so i should be able to post from china with photos! and afterall whats a blog without pictures? BORING.
update on the foster mom situation: i have a phone number for ruby's foster mom but it has been disconnected. her orphanage is very very closed so no way to get her current info from them especially since they denied she was even in foster care... long story but i hired a "searcher" in china a few years ago to locate her and we had some contact in 2008 . but truthfully she did not seem all that interested in us, although she did send a few photos and a letter. i have a feeling that she had serial foster kids and did not really get attatched to them. ruby was with her from november 2002 until adoption day in april 2003. i had really hoped that we would be able to meet her while we are in changsha, but its looking kind of dubious. its mind boggling to think of trying to locate one person in a city of 8 million without a phone number.
